On Tuesday, July 2 at 7 PM, the Reverend Dr. Alethea Smith-Withers, Founder and Pastor of the Pavilion of God in Washington, DC, launches “RevUP with Rev Alethea” BlogTalk Radio Show to reach the people of God wherever they are in their day-to-day living. Rev. Alethea is responding to a call to address how Christians show up in the real world. Accordingly, this “keeping it real” show is about LIFE… seeking to minister to the people of God through all phases of their experience, even up to the Higher Life of the Spirit. Topics for discussion will include everything from faith to fellowship, education to economics, and pop culture to politics.

Every Tuesday at 7PM, for an hour, listeners are invited to listen and call in with questions or comments. The audience listens by either logging on to http://www.blogtalkradio.com/revalethea on BlogTalkRadio or by calling in on (347) 945-7723.

On July 2nd, the inaugural show, Rev Alethea will offer details about her guest she will interview during July. Topics for July will focus on faith formation and spiritual growth, education, local politics, returning ex-offenders, a movie review, and a new book by a local author. In addition to introducing Rev. Alethea and her new show, the July 2nd debut radio show will be a celebration!

This avowed seeker of truth, Rev. Alethea, will “rev up”, accelerate and energize your thinking about life and all of its complexities and contradictions! She is also a Pastoral Counselor and Imago Therapy Life Coach and will share her counseling insights about individual emotional healing, relationships, and parenting. She is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (RCRC), the national community of religious and spiritual people, denominations, and organizations from all faith traditions dedicated to achieving reproductive justice.

This woman of God is also thankful to be a Breast Cancer “overcomer” and leads a faith-based ministry, STAND, that seeks to advance breast cancer awareness and prevention among African American women and women of color. From coast to coast, she has provided leadership training for both ministers and lay leaders and is a professional facilitator and a frequent guest preacher. She is a wife, mother, and proud and doting grandmother.
